Melinda Yormick is on a mission to make hospitals safer and smarter. As an experienced nurse who worked across major hospitals, she witnessed firsthand how wayfinding challenges impacted patient care. After advancing through nursing leadership roles and pursuing her Executive MBA, Melinda's career took an unexpected turn in 2021 when a patient died due to navigation delays.
This tragedy revealed a systemic "Failure to Respond" issue affecting healthcare nationwide. Finding no suitable solutions on the market, Melinda founded CLARA in 2022, a system she describes as "Waze + Air Traffic Control for hospitals" that orchestrates operations to ensure teams and equipment reach patients when needed most.
Guided by Mark Twain's wisdom about life's two most important days—"the day you are born and the day you realize why" — Melinda has assembled a team of clinical and technology leaders committed to transforming hospital safety and efficiency.
